Section 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
Flammable. Harmful in contact with skin. Toxic if swallowed.
Irritating to eyes and skin. Toxic : danger of serious damage to health by prolonged exposure through inhalation and if swallowed.
Very toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.Moisture sensitive.Air sensitive.
Potential Health Effects
Eye:
May cause eye irritation. Produces irritation, characterized by a burning sensation, redness, tearing, inflammation, and possible corneal injury.
Skin:
Harmful if absorbed through the skin. Effects may be delayed. May produce mucosal lesions. Causes skin irritation and possible burns.
Ingestion:
May cause gastrointestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Inhalation:
May cause respiratory tract irritation. Causes sore throat, coughing, shortness of breath, and dental corrosion.
Chronic:
The critical effect of tributyltin compounds in rats is on the immune system (ACGIH 7th Edition Documentation of the TLVs).

Section 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES
Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid immediately.
Skin:
Get medical aid immediately. Flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes.
Wash clothing before reuse. Destroy contaminated shoes.
Ingestion:
If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid.
Inhalation:
Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid.
Notes to Physician:

Section 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
General Information:
As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion. Use water spray to keep fire-exposed containers cool. Containers may explode in the heat of a fire. Flammable liquid and vapor.
Extinguishing Media:
Do NOT use water directly on fire. Do NOT get water inside containers. For small fires, use dry chemical, carbon dioxide, or water spray. For large fires, use dry chemical, carbon dioxide, alcohol-resistant foam, or water spray. Cool containers with flooding quantities of water until well after fire is out.

Section 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks:
Absorb spill with inert material (e.g. vermiculite, sand or earth), then place in suitable container. Clean up spills immediately, observing precautions in the Protective Equipment section. Remove all sources of ignition. Use a spark-proof tool. Provide ventilation.

Section 7 - HANDLING and STORAGE
Handling:
Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Use only in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Empty containers retain product residue, (liquid and/or vapor), and can be dangerous. Avoid ingestion and inhalation. Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, or expose empty containers to heat, sparks or open flames.
Storage:
Store in a tightly closed container. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances.
Flammables-area. Store protected from moisture. Store under nitrogen.

Section 8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS, PERSONAL PROTECTION
Engineering Controls:
Facilities storing or utilizing this material should be equipped with an eyewash facility and a safety shower. Use adequate general or local exhaust ventilation to keep airborne concentrations below the permissible exposure limits.
